Title: Moses Brown Head Middle School Coach, Boys A Lacrosse

Reports to: Director of Athletics
Job Level/Salary Grade: Stipend
Purpose/Objective: The Head Middle School Coach will work under the direction of the Director of Athletics to help cultivate a competitive, inclusive, positive experience for MB student-athletes.
Major Responsibilities:
- Team management (60%):
- Create a robust daily practice plan (in person and virtually) that develops lacrosse skill sets.
- Promote a team culture committed to good sportsmanship, relationship building and integrity.
- Collaborate with upper school coaches to ensure consistency of skill development at all levels. Interactions with upper school coaches must be in compliance with Rhode Island Interscholastic League rules and regulations.
- Administrative and logistical duties (40%):
- Work with the athletic department to coordinate/ schedule team practices and supervision during competition and team travel.
- Work with Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning to develop and implement programs that will aid in the physical development and injury prevention of student athletes.
- Participate in the Admissions process, including: personal outreach to prospective students who have expressed interest in Moses Brown, campus visits, open house, etc.
- Assist the athletic department with issuing and collecting equipment and uniforms.
- Help the athletic department with content to improve Moses Brown’s middle school sports’ social media presence.

Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma
Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
Experience: Prior experience coaching lacrosse.
Skills, Knowledge & Expectation:
- A coaching philosophy centered on mutual respect, positive communication, and a commitment to equity, inclusiveness, relationship-building, and care for young people.
- Knowledge of current lacrosse rules and regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students and parents.
- Ability to travel regionally and work evenings and weekends as needed.
